Dear friends and partners of Harbr,

Today, I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you. Harbr has taken a monumental step forward in our mission to empower organizations to unlock the full potential of their data. I’m proud to introduce you to Harbr 5.0, a transformative release that redefines the way data is shared, accessed, and utilized.

As we look back on our journey, it’s clear that we’ve come a long way from our inception in 2017. We’ve had the privilege of working with remarkable clients like Moody’s Analytics and CoreLogic, helping them deliver award-winning data commerce experiences at scale. With their trust and support, we’ve been able to evolve, adapt, and innovate. Harbr 5.0 is a testament to our commitment to constantly push the boundaries and meet the ever-evolving needs of data leaders.

At Harbr, we’ve always been driven by a singular mission: to make data accessible across any boundary. With Harbr 5.0, we’ve taken a giant leap toward fulfilling that mission by introducing powerful capabilities that empower enterprises to break down silos without losing control over their data.

Here’s a quick rundown of the things I’m most excited about with our latest release:

Say goodbye to the monolith

Anyone that has experienced a major data migration will be aware of the enormous costs involved. And business leaders will have many good reasons beyond cost to want to avoid moving everything to one particular storage solution. That’s why we’ve made it possible to access and use data assets across multiple storage and cloud platforms. And in many cases, you’ll be able to tap into these data resources without actually moving the data off of these source systems.

Data marketplaces are now a reality

The concept of a data marketplace has been around for a while. But in the last year or so, we’ve seen a massive increase in data leaders understanding the need for an internal data marketplace. Internal data marketplaces, like those built on Harbr, offer a curated and user-friendly experience for discovering, evaluating, accessing, and distributing data. Data producers can securely share data and data products with anyone — inside or outside their organization. For data consumers, finding the right data is easier than ever, thanks to powerful search, filters, categories, and recommenders integrated into the platform.

Data workspaces for any occasion

Harbr’s on-demand workspaces are where we’ve seen some of the most creative use of the platform. These spaces are available in pre-configured or customizable instances and enable a range of data experiences — for example, data quality, model development, and data analytics use cases. Within these spaces — which run on your preferred cloud provider — your users have industry-standard tools at their disposal, including Superset, RStudio, JupyterLab, SQL Lab, and Trino.

A leap forward for data sharing

Harbr 5.0 is more than just a software update; it’s a major leap forward for the company and the broader data sharing movement. Our team has worked tirelessly to bring these features to market, and we’re so excited to see what our customers will accomplish with them.

Thank you for being a part of the Harbr story so far.

Onward,

Leo Spiegel
